Description

Good Weekend Everyone! Hope you are all doing something enjoyable this weekend :) I don't have a quote or a poem tonight, just an ArtRage painting. Like abstracts, what it might mean to me could be very different from what you see... Thanks to all who have commented the last few weeks, it is always appreciated! I will be catching up on comments and emails soon. Hope some Spring is catching up with you! Hugs :)

Does your talent know no bounds, woman?!?? This is just beautiful, and the mood is . . . evocative. They seem connected, yet in their own little worlds. It's serene, and there's a tension there, as well. Wow. This is great work!

This is a great work, that invites you to take it personally, give your own interprtation. Just as ambiguous to trigger the fantasy, and make you take a step into the painting. Excellent Jill!

Your artwork always speaks to me - in this I see two sides of the same person - one tranquil and content and the other in turmoil. A stirring and insightful work. CC

I have a variety of interpretations for this beauty. My first is that of a woman meditating. Next, a sad woman, one experiencing some form of disappointment. Third, a woman captivated by music with carries her away to some other place. I love the shadows in this. Excellent work, Jill. Hugs, Suzanne

There is something profoundly sad behind those eyes. I've seen that same look in the eyes of the street children that beg at many traffic lights in South African cities. Their faces masks that cannot contain the turmoil inside. From that perspective your exceptionally skilled eye has caught what I see as the face of AIDS in my country. The mother dead or busy dying and the child unsure of what the future holds. It's a bitter sweet scene and you've done an amazing job once again, Miss Jillian. Excellent.

A nice concept here that could be interpreted several ways, very clever. Lovely soft colours.

hmmmm.... well another interpretation to add to the list. Don't see the sadness or despair I've read in the other replys... perhaps a shared melancholy from a shared recollection - bright and new in the character behind... an older but renewed memory - as in walked this path before... in the character in front. Like the warmth and light added to the face behind... and the shadow to the front - adds not only to the depth of the piece - but to the emotion I believe expressed - as it affects each. A very nice work... with a subtle, but strong sensibility to it.

....reminding me somewhat of Chagall...but at the same time all you -- wonderful composition and subdued use of colour -- the little patches of light falling on the faces elevates this painting - mother and child ? ...it's left to the viewer to interpet --- but one cannot look without being very emotionaly moved....beautifully done.
