Description
I found that I was using the same colors whenever painting in watercolors so I found a postcard with this really colorful mountain stuck in a book in the Library so I tried to translate the color from whatever medium they used into watercolor. After I felt I had come close the original still looked better, and the Library was closing so I stopped a little disappointed. But now, 11 years later, it doesn't look as bad as I remember it being when comparing the 2. I still do not know who painted the original but it looked really cool and taught me a bit about free use of color in this medium.

I think this is nice work and technique. It kinda looks like something from an Albert Bierstadt painting but I don't know which one. There's a good gallery of his work at http://www.xmission.com/~emailbox/glenda/bierstadt/bierstadt.html
