Description
Modelled and rendered in Bryce 5.0, no postwork.
I tried to capture the atmosphere of a city by modelling one which was anything but realistic - somewhere between cubism and surrealism. There's more to the image than there first appears. It's all in the details...

In fact this is very realistick in an abstract sort of way. Youve captured the feel of a cityscape that has been photographed through a fish-eye or very wide angle lense. I love the look and feel of this piece, the sense of movement and your atmosphere is wonderful. Also true there is a lot more to this piece once one takes the time to check out the detail in it. Please what did you use to make the buildings.... Bryce is a sortware of extreem right angles..... How on earth did you get the buildings to bend inwords like that??? Excellent work of art

The buildings are simple stretched cubes. The fisheye effect was achieved by pointing the camera at a small mirrored sphere ('polished silver' material), so close to the camera that no edges are visible. All of the scene is actually behind the camera - what you see in the finished work is the reflection in the sphere. Also, to enhance the atmosphere, all of the buildings are tilted at different angles inward toward the man at the bottom left of the picture.
