Wow, he's too close for me, Errol! I can see a glow from under the black area on the left; I hope you guys can tell which places are safe to walk on. I'm sure stepping into that stuff would ruin your whole day. :-) Glad to see you got your son out there. I'm sure you have another convert now.

WOW!! I agree with Cosine.. you both gotta be very careful please.. In my country, if some one sees such shot, a father letting his son play with the hotty lava, they will say, that guy wants to get rid of his son or that person! Ofcourse you ain't like this tho :) Just be careful and thank you for sharing this image with us.. Take care now my friend JOE

Fantastic shot of something which many of us will (hopefully!) never have to witness for ourselves. I'm sure you don't need reminding about the safety - I'm sure you were right on hand to catch him before he even stumbled, that's what dad's are there for eh?! Excellent. xx

Fantastic feeling of heat but please don't go so close. I don't need to worry about people I have never met! LOL.

Indeed this is good advice for i have wondered about the photographs you have taken of the larva and its the possible dangers to yourself. So take care and be careful. Thank you for sharing. egmont

Nothing shows how slowly that lava moves like this shot. Now just be sure y'all keep that thing erupting for a few more years so I have a chance to get back and get some photos of my own like this. :) Amazing to see, even on the video we bought at the visitors center.

Ah yes, always tempting fate, which is typical of most youngsters of the male gender. As always, great grays, yellow/reds, deep textures, lighting effects and POV in your lava captures! Literally, a roiling mass.

Hi Errol, So happy to be able to visit Rendy after a long time of hard working without being able to come here. And so happy to meet you and your fantastic and unusual shots. This one is so "risky" and so beautiful, showing the blood of our planet. Aloha dear friend, G.
