Description

Say now, how's that for alliteration? Yesterday, April 14, 2007, I motored up to lovely Echo Park in downtown Los Angeles, and took hundreds of photos of the local denizens and landscape, including a huge fountain, palm trees, birds/fowl, people sleeping on the lawn, the lake, structures, etc. Although I'm still deep in the process of postworking this load of captures, I thought I'd drop this one in the slot at this juncture because it is one of my favorites of the bunch. I didn't have the heart to crop the photo at the top because of the fascinating water effects. Incidentally, two cameras were used in this venture: my trusty Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z2, and my brand new 28-200mm lens-equipped Pentax K110D SLR, which I'm still getting used to, especially in the area of exposure. I twice walked the entire circumference of the lake, once with one camera, and once with the other, snapping blithely away, tripping over stuff as usual. Needless to say, more of Echo Park to come. Thanks for the visit, and enjoy yourself, it's later than you think!

the sea gull is wonderful and seems absorbed in a world all his own. And I love the photo hog pigeon peeking over the edge to see just what all the fuss is about. Good shot.

Funny how you caught that little guy sticking his head up. I'm not really that crazy about gulls and pigeons, but it's still a great shot. Hope your enjoying your new equipment!

If seagulls are called rats with wings, how would you classify crows, some of the biggest scavengers around?
