Description
Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong century. This cram in more than we can handle lifestyle is not how humans were supposed to live. As John Prine once said in song, "It's enough to make a man blow up his own TV". That's what Elvis did. Several times. Maybe he knew what he was doing after all!
But I digress.
I could throw it all away, and retreat back to a simpler time where if you could call a place like this "home", you were doing alright. No concrete, TV, or instant anything. No partially hydrogenated vegetable oil or high fructose corn syrup in your foods. And your water came from a hand operated pump in your own back yard instead of a grocery store.
But let's not go completely crazy! I'd still want a completely furnished modern kitchen and bathroom with all the conveniences! And it goes without mention that I'd still need my high speed Internet access as well.
Of course.
This is a restored pioneer home located in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Visiting there you can't help but slip a bit back in time and marvel how the people somehow lived off the land. It was a hard life. Just surviving made you a success. And there was no Wal-Mart around the corner either.
And there you are. Thanks for stopping by!

I with you there. I like my modern ammenitites perhaps, but when I come across places like this, I seriously consider giving it all up...

Almost perfect....I think most of our needs begin with a comfortable place to rest. This looks fine. Excellent photo!

A picture that defines "rustic" perfectly! Well done, Marshall. Think I'll grab a cold drink from the fridge.
