Description

A scanned image of the inside of the Bonnevile Dam that was seen in yesterdays gallery image.. This image was taken in the mid 80's on a previous bike trip.. yesterdays image was taken last year..they allowed tours to see the inside back then..not sure if they do now as the terrorism threats may have curtailed them..we did not stop to find out.. What is seen are the turbines that are powered by all the water seen pouring through the dam outlets... to get a perspective of the size of them note the big rig truck tanker at the right bottom side of the image..these things are huge...and there are a lot of them in there..

Hooray for hydro-electric power! It's a safe, clean, inexpensive, renewable resource. This is a wonderful shot. The inside of a dam is a fascinating place. Thanks for sharing this!

This is called the "old" Powerhouse because it was built first back in the 30's. IT is big but see if you can find some pic's of the interior of the "new" powerhouse. I spent alot of time in both growing up!
