Description

Where did I leave it, the rest of my mind I honestly don't miss it, most times I find Although when I'm searching for stuff that I've lost I stop and then wonder is this then the cost? Will I be endlessly searching for stuff I set down Then simply can't find again, when I turn back around Will I ever find anything right where it was set Or is this as good as half a mind gets It started some time ago when I was a child I was always a little bit crazy and wild One day I was playing, with my marbles outside The wind came and scattered them all, far and wide I searched and I searched and then finally I quit They were gone, I had lost them, I was in a snit Over the years I've looked for them again off and on But I never did find them My marbles are gone! So I soldier on through my life, Half a fool Don't worry about me I don't even drool I just spend my time searching for things Engaged in the pleasure of the treasures it brings Perhaps one fine day when I'm peering about The light will dawn and the sun will come out And glistening there in the deep grass I'll find My long lost marbles or the rest of my mind

There is a place where all those 'lost things' go, never to be seen again.:o) Even if you lost a few marbles, you have plenty more. Wonderful writing with a great cadence. CC

Nouns. That's what I lose all the time. I've almost learned that I should never start a sentence if I don't know what the thing is called that I want to talk about!

Oh so typical of my mind. I lose things all the time and my children often tell me I have lost 'it' as they say. I really enjoyed this poem as I do all your work as you have a great way with words. Excellent work.

"So I soldier on through my life, Half a fool" -- "Tis better to remain silent and be 'thought' a fool, then to open one's mouth and remove all doubt" (ALEXANDER POPE). WINK. Superb, TRUE written work!! BTW: IF you can 'remember' that you 'forget', you're STILL OK! GRIN. My best to you and yours, kind soul .... T.P.

The curse of an artist - really makes me smile. When you get even older the illuminations of creation have to be recorded, written down immediately for they are such an unstable gas. Loved this writing. Sorry, I'm not around. Family weight to deal with - the old old folks and lawyers.. government.. you know.

Very nice...I have a hard time remembering where I put things since I've lost my husband....especially the stupid cell phone and I've locked myself out of the car twice...so someday I hope to fine my marbles to...Now that I think more about the poem it point to alot of other things...My loss of my husband and my job at the same time, I'm trying to make it in this new life hoping to find something new...or the rest of my mind...Thank you for sharing this.
