Description

Here you see a youth playing with clay and paint. Working the clay and painting it as she wish. There was 100's of youth there learning diff types of fire type arts. Glass blowing; pottery; jewery beads makeing; blacksmithes; brozen makeing[they melted metal and cast it into molds they maded. I just got photos of some of they produces post them later; it rained and they could not melt the metal to 2000 degrees. they did but the rain blow it up. no one was hurt] oh it was a very small blow up but it could burn someone bad. Here it umder a tent and you do not have any worry of blow ups. But I say this of the blow up it that if you work with fire you have to be careful. Even with clay ; the oven is hot and the pots can blow up. It most the time in the oven at the time and all you get is a mess to clean up. lol I going off the subject again. But I just like to show some of the youths. I have other photos but they came out with movement in them for low lighting and me holding the camera in hand. thanks for every thing

While working with pottery some years ago, I learned many things. One is "the blow up". If you make the clay too thick, it will blow up. If you don't get all the air bubbles out before modeling, it will blow up. If you accidently get a piece of foreign something in the clay, it will blow up. And different types of clay fire at different temperatures...if you try to fire the wrong type of clay at the wrong temperature - you guessed it - it will blow up. :-) The sad thing is, if you have several objects in a kiln at one time to fire, the one piece that has the flaw in it will explode and most likely it will take out the other good pieces that don't have flaws. So you like to fire your piece with objects from people you know are experienced enough to watch for these exploding problems. :-) Nice shot and it brings back a lot of memories.

An excellent POV of the young lady so engrossed in her work. Other than that, I have no experience or knowledge in this field of endeavor. According to MrsLubner, it sounds potentially dangerous, with stuff exploding all over the place. Anyway, good shot, Jocko!

An excellent catch of sight, one sees the way very well that has the jeuen woman to handle her tool on the pottery. This style of engraving must be very delicate. Very good work!

this is a great capture. something about clay and 3d art materials you can really get the hands on approach to, she is doing here, you can really see her intense but relaxed concentration, she makes me want to venture into ceramics again. cool stuff :)
