I dont think of myself as an artist - more a creatively minded laymen. Im blessed with perpetual inspiration, but cursed by a lack of talent.
I have always loved to sketch, and on the odd occasion even paint. Unfortunately for me, a real world canvas doesnt have an undo button. This is why, back in 1996, I first started toying with a Shareware version of Paint Shop Pro (found on the cover of a magazine). I knew almost instantly that digital art was for me.
Fast forward to 2006, when I discovered a highly under-rated (yet unfortunately limited) program called FaceGen. Within hours of tinkering with the software I was creating realistic characters well beyond anything I could have managed via traditional mediums. But what to do about bodies for my newly created digital brethren?
I took it upon myself to scour the internet in search of a 3D software package that was flexible enough to fulfil my specific needs, while still being NOOB friendly. Untimely I didnt want to spend months, or even years deciphering the ins and outs of 3D Studio Max for instance.
It wasnt long before I caught digital whisperings of a program called Poser, which lead me eFrontiers very own site.
In search of more examples of Poser art I found myself inevitably at Renderosity...and I havent looked back since.
The community here is certainly a mixed bunch (as are all communities, online especially), but in the great majority they have proven to be incredibly helpful, and wonderfully supportive.
If you plan on commenting on my images (and I certainely hope you do) while praise is always appreciated, critical analysis and constructive criticism is encouraged.
Happy rendering!

bit of a change from Apollo :) I'm still not sure about her either. I've done a few tests with her but we'll see
ClawShrimp
I'm still plugging away at Apollo projects, but took a couple hours break from 'him' and did this. :) I forgot to mention this is G2 Jessi hair and the gun is from the Spy pack. I had to fake the depth of field in Photoshop because I didn't feel like waiting six hours for this render to finish! ;)

brilliant, take the yellow out in ps should be perfect
netlion66
Excellent work!! very cool
Rutra
Very good. I like her face, pose and expression. The only thing I dont like very much is the DOF. It seems more a motion blur than a DOF, IMVHO.
ClawShrimp
The combination of yellows and greens in this image was very deliberate, but may not be to everyone's tastes. Having said that I'll tinker with this again and see how it looks with the yellows toned down. It won't warrent a re-post, but if I prefer the adjustments I'll save that version as my 'final'. Cheers
ClawShrimp
Rutra, It was intended to be a little of both - Motion and depth. I don't particularly like the results either :).

What a difference from you Apollo work :) :) - well done the only comment I would make is that the neck looks a little strange with those what I assume are hair strands?
ClawShrimp
The hair strand on the left looks to be coming from nowhere. I hadn't noticed that. This should have been fixed in post-work (another addition to my to-do list). Thanks Bea.

Great POV, no crit from me, all issues mentioned I think.
thecytron
Interesting style of composition!

All issues have been said. No crits here

I like her - very nice face and expression. Shouldnt she be looking in the diresction she's pointing her gun? (Or pointing the gun in the direction she's looking?
SoCalRoberta
I like the way the blurring of the gun and hand give this a sense of motion, as if you snapped the shot while she was swinging around to aim. I think her eyes have already seen what she's going for and the hand is following that. Great image :)
TheAnimaGemini
Great pose and expression. But i have to agree whit DOF. Looked more blurry than DOF.
KarenJ
Excellent use of DOF. I love her expression, it really says she's ready to kick someone's arse! Her nostrils are a bit glowing though :-)
Acadia
I like the pose and perspective (gun out front and blurred). The skin tone while deliberate is not to my liking, but that's just personal preference and neither her nor there.
ClawShrimp
Thankfully I always save the raw renders, so I can go back and re-do post photoshoping that doesn't work. I've toned down the yellowing of the image, but kept the greenish hue, which I personally think makes this image. I've lessened the movement in order to reduce confliction with the depth of field. * I've also fixed the hair clipping issues. I won't bother re-posting as the changes are relativley minor. Just wanted to say thank you to everyone for their help.

I have little to complain about with this one, you did a very good job removing the Miki-ness from her face and making her look unique. Very cool, good motion blur.
