DAMN, mombug was f***ed by an alien...
that was the first a good friend of mine sayed by looking at the image
Hi all, I`m back after some hollyday and 4 weeks course for 3D modeling...I exept it helped a bit
O.K. but now as usual some infos about the work:
the whole scene was done in C4D 6 and rendered with C4D 7 an a friends computer...
Textures are taken with a Nikon CoolPix and processed a bit with PhotoShop.

I like it very much. The light is good with enough mystery to set imagination to work, the colours are ok... It really looks like a photograph of some alien bug. A question: is there much difference in rendering quality between 6 and 7? I work my way through Art(6, no anim) and am considering an upgrade to 7 although I'm not into animation really.

This is the coolest bug I have ever seen. I was going to start working on a project tonight that I had in mind. I like bugs but mine up to this point have been quite cartoonish. I was going to try something darker and more sinister. I can see that I have alot of learning to do after looking at this. Very nice indeed!

Holy supercalafragilisticexpialadocious Fake - this is one mean green bug machine - it's not hard to see that your 4 week course paid off in buckets of 'SPADES' - with a great number of glistening 'DIAMONDS', and now your 'HEARTS' desires with such improved skill will be the 'CLUBS' that beat the competition to death! You've got the entire 'DECK' stacked in your favor, and you are one serious 'CARD' to be dealt with, and no 'JOKER' for sure. I can't even get Poser4 3D to play nice, and here YOU are working in Cinema 4D as if it were the easiest program ever created. The results here are spectacular Fake - and I'm greener than this render with pure envy, and bugged that I can't even render a decent looking square or circle. I'm going to start using my 3D program disks as coasters for my booze glass so it'll make crying in my beer far more easy. You should be very proud my friend, if I had one quarter of your modeling skills - all my shirts would be in constant need of new buttons! Beautiful job - I'll go have a good sob now - the corner isn't far from my desk, so I can go stand in it for a few days.

Ich sehe schon, der Kurs hat echt geholfen. Der Detailreichtum in dem Model ist atemberaubend. Da kommt schon wieder Neider auf.

Very nice indeed, but... I wonder why the "bionic" look. The model of the bug is so great, slapping a metalic texture on it feels like a cop-out. I'd love to see him (her) with some more developed organic texturing.
