Description

All year I have missed wishing everyone happy holidays, so finally I am on time for one holiday at least! Happy May Day... and spring in general!:-) I always think of Niutek when I look at tulips now, so this is especially dedicated to her. These were painted in ArtRage--not a perfect painting, but I feel like I learn things every time I use this wonderful software!

This reminds me of how much I enjoyed painting plants and flowers back in college, Lynn! Thanks for posting the in-progress images, too. I love your pallet here, and your expert use of composition. The beautiful use of brush strokes gives it a nice energy- great control and loose feel. The cloth, in particular, is consumate-natural, subtle and not at all overworked. Based on your work with it, I downloaded ArtRage and am eagerly anticipating working in it. Thanks for pointing it out!

This reminds me so much on a painting in my grandma's living room that it nearly hurts... So to me there is nothing that isn't perfect. I like it a lot how you catured that special "tulip-shimmer" on the petals!
