Description

This is what a Dicentra spectabilis (bleeding heart) blossom looks like when it's fully open. Each bloom is a little over an inch long. How old are you? Do you remember . . . That Girl? Gidget? AquaNet? These flowers always make me think of a cross between a boufant and a flip. The perfect hairstyle for a lime green A-line! No postwork on this one, other than crop and frame.

Gorgeous colors and soft effects in this stellar macro of what appears to be a melting grape flavored popsicle, T! Is this related in any way to a calla lily? The black stem popping out of the top reminds me of that. As for That Girl: Marlo Thomas Gidget: Sandra Dee AquaNet: What is that, some kind of hair shampoo?

What a stunning capture of a bleeding heart flower. I have never seen one in person and just go crazy for photos of them. I can totally see the 1960s flip here, and in pink - a punk mod look. Love it!

Some time ago, I used to have a 'bleeding heat' plant growing inmy garden and then one day it just did not reveal itself in spring. I miss it so. Your imagination regarding the 60's hairstyle is fantastic and from now on I will view the plant when i see it a little different. Thank you for sharing. egmont
