My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!
If I’m missing from Renderosity from time to time, I’m busy having fun elsewhere.
Thanks for your interest in my work, and for stopping by to learn more about me!

You're right, this is beautiful wood. Thank you for showing us, and not forcing us to see the horrid background. :-) Well done.

I love your newelest post, it really does jump out at you with the background blacked out and shows of the fine wood and woodwork to it's greatest advantage. "...The dream of living in a lighthouse baby, every single day. The dream of living in a lighthouse, the white one by the bay. So if you want to make my dreams come true, You'll be a lighthouse keeper too. We could live in a lighthouse The white one by the bay,hey hey. Won't that be okay. Yada tada ta ta ta...." It is a wonderful capture, Tara. Many people would walked past this work of art without even noticing. I am so glad you did not. I adore wood, as my Dad before me did.. The newel posts in my home are carved from pitch pine, 109 years of loving care. The man who carved them, signed them!! His signature is clearly visible today :-) He must have been proud of his work. I cherish them.. Hugs. Diane.

Really lovely shot.

Excellent postwork in this image, T! You spent extra time in exorcising the original background for a black one, which really brought out the rich colors and lighting effects in the newel. A beautiful bit of woodwork. Also, TwoPynts has come up with another extensive litany to pleasure the masses. You should charge him for double parking.
