Description

Have you ever sat down in front of your computer and opened up Poser with all kinds of ideas and then as soon as that default figure shows up, you lose everything? Have you ever (at that point) just run through your entire inventory of items and figures hoping and praying that you'll find something that just might work? Then of course, did you ever get so frustrated that everything you tried out didn't look right or any other possible reasons and you almost wanted to give up? Then you get mad at yourself because you know that 'you are an artist' and that 'you can make something from nothing so why aren't you doing so now?' Thats kind of my feeling behind this particular image. The title is really more of a quote of the feeling I was in when I made it. I suppose this happens to alot of artists? Again I wasn't sure which genre to put this under... So I settled on Gothic (don't ask me why, it was really the only one that seemed fitting.) Minor postwork in PSP Please look at it in full-size, the details look so much better then in the smaller version. Thank you for any comments...

It's a gorgeous image. Her expression is one of being lost and confused. You must have found your inner vision at last as you nailed it.

I would say yes but that's not true LOL I work backwards.. .pick the background first.. than the pose and than I don't care what model. With postwork you can make anything look gorgeous LOL BUT I do feel like your image when I get creative block!!

Very good! One remark about light: since the light seems to come from the outside, I would expect the shadow of the bars to project on her and on the ground. Another thing would be her expression: it seems too relaxed, too calm. For this situation and body pose, I would expect a bit more anxiety. Anyway, a good image!

Nice image! I agree with Rutra's comments, especially about shadow. At the moment she is not grounded in the cell. But the pose is good and it's a nice style.

I approach this from a completely different direction - I am troubled by pretty intense visions, and I have to learn the tools to bring them clear. I am pretty much booked up on planned images for a few years at least. I suppose I am fortunate in this respect but it's hard to sleep or focus on other things sometimes (one reason I am so behind on recent critiques). Neat image, I won't harp on things already pointed out. I don't know that I would wish for powerful inspiration, it's a mixed blessing ;)

I can totally relate to you, but in the opposite way--there are 5 or 6 ideas I want to work on all at once, and it's hard to narrow them down and focus. The figure is lovely; the tired look on her face and the pose suggests she's almost ready to eventually consider the possibility of perhaps getting up the gumption to take an action at some point in the future. I can relate to that, too. And the very limited palette of muted colors works well here. Only crit it that it's maybe too dark, but that could vary from monitor to monitor.
