Description

Well - you probably could have guessed who the model was for the previous two pictures, and here she is, it's Rachel :) I realise it is a bit soft, but it seemed ok at that shutter speed on the LCD. In hindsight i should have bumped the ISO a bit more - although i think i was fairly high as it was... there are limits to the "mini studio" setup i suppose :) anyway - this was a play around with a concept i had seen elsewhere, first time i have lit a face as well. It's all a learning experience :) Thanks for your comments on the previous two images, i think the major criticism was the apparent underexposure. Whilst i can see how The Countercurve might be a little underexposed (the highest white was 209) The Parabola imo wasnt (the highest white was at 230). Maybe it is personal preference but i thought that any more contrast put onto the image would make it too harsh for the subject content...Also i think that everyone's screen is always going to be slightly different and maybe some are uncalibrated - but basically it looks good to me on my screen ;) anyway - thanks for looking, hope you like this evilness ;) Enjoy! Rich

I like the postwork too, it is a cool concept and I think you've done very well. you're trying new things and that exhibits the desire to grow as an aritist and that is a good thing. my one thought on this aside from what I've already written is I'd have left her earrings in...

Neat direction Rich. I might have done something about the distracting (to me) shine on her nose though.

Well I'm sure she isn't evil in real life, she has quite an angelic face with a touch of dark mystique about her. I love the colouring on her eye and I like the contrast and lighting as it is (on my screen!!) Another experiment that you have successfully mastered. Great shot Rich. xx

I like very much this one too ....Your work is excellent but ...IMHO I would have let the eye of your beautifull model "Rachel" in B&W , without any colour added ! anyway ...Once again I appreciate very much your work Rich !

A very original and creative portrait. I think you are right about the contrast. Any more and it would have been very unflattering for Rachel. Lovely b&w portrait! *****

Nice and creative..The lighting looks a little harsh, and maybe the high contrast does not flatter the skin tones..
