Description

Owing to a very valid comment posted on the "original" Counter-curve shot by cameraobscura2/egmont about the skin looking alien and thus detracting from our perception of what the human body and especially the female body should be, i decided to post up the "non water droplet" version of the shot. Comments and criticisms are very welcome. Rich :) PS - View full for more detail.

I have to say Rich that although another beautiful shot and yes, showing the softness of the female form (or at least how it is perceived it should be!), I still prefer the first shot of the Counter-Curve. I've had both images open to compare accurately and I still like the "texture" of Rachel's skin on the original. Although you say that it was water droplets, to me, yes the body looks wet (as if just out of the shower or something), but it looks more like she has goose-bumps from standing in the cold - giving more "life" to the picture. I certainly never viewed it as "alien"!!?? I've even asked hubby for his opinion on both shots (without giving him mine or anyone else's opinion first!) and he instantly said he preferred the first image, as this one looked as if she had body oil on and was therefore "too smooth"!! (If her skin is that smooth, then congratulate her for me and tell her she's never too young to start moisturising to keep it looking like that! LOL!) I hope all of this makes sense and is not a criticism in any way (I am in no way qualified for that!) I love them both, just prefer the original. xx

The B&W is a good choice, the light and shadows are excellent as weel as the curve ...Just one thing,IMHO I would have choosen a square centring and frame . Anyway, congrats for this excellent work !

I like them both for different reasons. It is a good series. I have always been a fan of wet, but this one looks softer. :o)b

First version I like better, but this shot has some soft timid mood to it!

Yeah, i like the first one for its texture. Maybe a larger shot at say 1024pix would give us a closer and better view. Still both are fab and very well done. Cheers.

The photo can be anyone, with sharpness or without, contrast whether or not, color or black-and-white, how many people are so much and opinions. The most important, that is author's work, and the author has shown, as the author sees it. For me any work Is remarkable.

I also prefer this reposted version but anyway, congratulations for the selection of your image in the LWitG feature (Last Week in the Gallery week 18/2007) ! It's totally deserved, Rich ! sun.gif

I agree with BibbyBear, I also prefer the first post for the reasons she exposed ! Anyway, both shots are remarkable, and I love the idea of this centring. Bravo
