About my Art - Watercolor, Poser &Vue I have been painting mainly with transparent watercolor on paper. Most of my paintings depict hypothetical situations and imaginary scenes, striving to capture ideas and moods rather then a resemblance to specific places or people. On many occasions more than one way forward suggest themselves either from the onset or during the painting process. I like to explore these possibilities in different paintings and thus I have several ongoing themes (Some examples of themes I worked on are shown in the image above). I started useing Poser and then Vue mainly to set up virtual models and/or scenes which are then painted in watercolor. The CG images were supposed to be only an intermediate stage, but I now got the CG bug, and I'm trying to make these images a 'product ' on their own accord. Feedback is really very important to me. I appreciate any form of it: comments on the impact the images had on you (or saying it had none), things you enjoyed, things you hated, any artistic aspects - (composition, color, lights & shadows etc.) - any technical comments( eg Poser/Vue issues) and anything else you find relevant. If you dont know a lot (or at all) about Watercolors, Poser or Vue, please dont let it deter you from leaving a comment. Just comment on what you see and what it made you feel or think. You could also ask questions, and if I know how to answer - I will.

Oh I'm so glad I checked it out in full-size, it really looks amazing! There's not really anything to crit here IMHO because as an interpretive image, you really could go just about any direction with it. Fantastic work! :D Cheers!

The displacement map came out in a really interesting way. The face on the left, for whatever reason, looks very threatening and dangerous, while the face on the right looks a lot more friendly, even if she looks very strange. All the lines of her features on the left head are compressed into a very aggressive scrunch, and on the right the features and lines are a lot more open. Neat change from the first version, although you're sacrificing some of the human-ness of the faces, they're more expressions of the center head. The pale head at the bottom I interpret to be a sleeping sub-conscious soul - as such I think I would close her eyes and incline her head a bit. Good changes from the first time around.

Well, you caught my attention too. Looking at it in full size is a must. Very good work. Aloha

Wonderfully creative work and, yes, very surreal. Just love surrealism. You have created a splendid example here !! Most excellent !

Very interesting. The various states of mind are always present, even though you may not realize it at first, and they all work together to produce your overall current state. The only thing I'm not very comfortable with, but this is just a very personal taste, are the colors of the backgrounds of the left and right heads. I would imagine something darker and more neutral to be a better choice. This is a good image.

This is a really interesting image. I think the displacement map effect works well and evokes different responses to the left and right heads. I think some of the shadows are a bit scratchy and could do with some smoothing, particularly around the head shadows, which is where I first noticed it. There also appears to be some sort of render defect running across the width of the image about 2" from the bottom through the pale head. I'm assuming it's a problem anyway. I agree with Rutra about the background colours but mainly for the left head. That one doesn't work for me. Excellent work overall!

Very strange, though the center (blue) one is my favorite.

Interesting piece of work... not to my personal taste, but very well done. I like that you took the time to get the shadows right. Lou.

Great work. Very creative.

Interesting. Though I'm afraid that the symbolic aspect of this is lost on me. Interesting use of colour and texture though.

Thanks for your comments. I know its not everyone's style (or cup of tea) so I realy appreceate you taking the time to look and comment. I like hearing your interpretations of the meaning of the different reflections. I intentionally didnt put my version first, to avoid biasing the viewers opinion. I fixed the weird line on the bottom figure and changed the background a bit (not darker actually) the corrected version is in the new posting - http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1437088
