I am no longer active here. Too many restrictions and unpleasant interactions with admin.
In addition I now focus on traditional art, which is very neglected on this site.

About my Art - Watercolor, Poser &Vue I have been painting mainly with transparent watercolor on paper. Most of my paintings depict hypothetical situations and imaginary scenes, striving to capture ideas and moods rather then a resemblance to specific places or people. On many occasions more than one way forward suggest themselves either from the onset or during the painting process. I like to explore these possibilities in different paintings and thus I have several ongoing themes (Some examples of themes I worked on are shown in the image above). I started useing Poser and then Vue mainly to set up virtual models and/or scenes which are then painted in watercolor. The CG images were supposed to be only an intermediate stage, but I now got the CG bug, and I'm trying to make these images a 'product ' on their own accord. Feedback is really very important to me. I appreciate any form of it: comments on the impact the images had on you (or saying it had none), things you enjoyed, things you hated, any artistic aspects - (composition, color, lights & shadows etc.) - any technical comments( eg Poser/Vue issues) and anything else you find relevant. If you dont know a lot (or at all) about Watercolors, Poser or Vue, please dont let it deter you from leaving a comment. Just comment on what you see and what it made you feel or think. You could also ask questions, and if I know how to answer - I will.

Lovely work!

It's a good one, though.... reminiscent of Dhali's surreal work. I KNOW someone's going to suggest where you can get the fur textures for the cats... Meantime, though, I've seen that as a deliberate thing in a few surreal paintings. Lou.

Very pretty scene and great lighting!

I like the image and specially the interaction between the characters. Well done. But I do have some points that maybe could be improved, IMVHO: - The gray cat seems to have some specular light (highlights), not very realistic on fur. - The fingers of the right hand of the girl seem to be penetrating the guy (that gotta hurt! :-)). - The man's trousers have a strange texture and seem to be defying gravity near the bottom. - The left foot of the guy seems to be on top of the right foot of the girl (that also gotta hurt! :-)). - The gray cat seem to be floating (the reflection of its feet have a bigger distance than the one of the white cat) - The curtain holder seems to be floating, there isnt any clear pin or whatever to the wall. I love the colors of the image, hot like their passion. I like the hint of fire that is visible through the window, as a parallel to the "fire of passion" that is happening between the characters. Looking forward to the watercolor!

Thanks folks. archdruid : I thought this is a sane nearly realistic image, but if you think it has a surrealistic feel - fantastic. Dali is my guru so that'sa great compliment, thanks. The white cat is going to stay white, just needs to look fury. Rutra: If there is hurting in the scene, it isnt from pocking fingers or toes... I see you think she is cruel, but no physical damage occured:) Her foot is just touching his- it isnt visible, but I just checked. I already knew her fingers did no damage, because the way it looks bothered me too. So even though it is right, if it looks wrong, its wrong and i'llhave to do something. Same for curtain fixture (Im not a good DIY person obviousely). Good catch with the gray cats highlights. Why is it floating? I am sure I "dropped it"! cant check -corrupt pz3.

Great work. Love your reflection. The only thing which really disturbes me is the hard egdes on the shoulders and joints. You can smooth them in postwork really quickly whith a smooth brush. looks more realistic. ;)

I like the pose - you can fix her hand by spreading the fingers instead of grasping. Unless you want her grasping his t-shirt, in which case you'd need to postwork the fabric folding and bunching up around her hand. It looks like you maybe rendered this at draft settings, it's a little bit blurry to me? I do like the composition, this is a very emotional piece.

If you still plan to paint this watercolor I'm very interested to see how it comes out. There are some very hard color breaks that I expect will be pretty tough to do, I have no idea how you would paint the reflection over the floor tiles. Regarding the desire you have for converting the curtain to more polygons, you could certainly do this with an external modeling application (I use Hexagon) but a very good alternative is Phil Cooke's PoserToolbox, which includes a tool that will subdivide a mesh into many more polygons. I don't know how this affects the UVmap (probably would break it) but a pattern of stripes like you have could be done entirely with shaders anyway without too much trouble, Poser 5 and later.

Really great reflections and pose! I'm not sure what is up with only one 1/2 of the curtain moving. That seems odd to me.

pjz99 - I already did a watercolor study from a more 'primitive' poser render. It is a small watercolor so didnt have any reflections. I forgot I meant to put that one on. I am planning a bigger more detailed one,and you'r right how the reflections will come out - no idea. But one needs a challenge! I think I am actually going to replace the whole curtain & rail. There is a good tutorial at poserfashion which I intend to emulate just needed to start somewhere... No problem about the stripes, they are already done with shaders. acadia - the other half of the curtain moves a bit,but not enough to my liking either. It will also look better compositionally if it isnt just vertical. I was working on that when it crashed without a close enough pz3. I have a new computer now, so I'll be back to this.
