Description
I kept beating my brains out trying to figure how to make an overhang that would make a complete arch. Impossible with terrain generation and displacement.
What you see here is six sphere objects, each displaced with a fractal terrain, and positioned to form the arch.
It needs work, to say the least, but by jiminy - I did it!
Oh, by the way, in a test render, I brought that gassy little moon to the surface - whoa... Maybe later...
Thanks for looking in!

Massive sense of scale that arch gives and it looks cool. Original work. ? Surely Terragen 2 can produce arches easier than the technique you used though can it not ?

great experimentation - really needs some texturing in the foreground stones, but very good result nevertheless. keep on pushing the boundaries

A very sucessful experiment, me thinks. I love the lumpy look of the arch.

Very well conceived, would need some naturalness of the surfaces, rougher, looks very polished...
