Description

I kept beating my brains out trying to figure how to make an overhang that would make a complete arch. Impossible with terrain generation and displacement. What you see here is six sphere objects, each displaced with a fractal terrain, and positioned to form the arch. It needs work, to say the least, but by jiminy - I did it! Oh, by the way, in a test render, I brought that gassy little moon to the surface - whoa... Maybe later... Thanks for looking in!

Massive sense of scale that arch gives and it looks cool. Original work. ? Surely Terragen 2 can produce arches easier than the technique you used though can it not ?

great experimentation - really needs some texturing in the foreground stones, but very good result nevertheless. keep on pushing the boundaries

Very well conceived, would need some naturalness of the surfaces, rougher, looks very polished...
