Description

One of our newly found friends Vince pokes his walking stick into the lava. The wind blowing right causes traces of red sparks from the burning wood and lava to fly just above the surface. The POV is best from where I was standing and not on the other side or we would be catching the sparks. Aloha and thank you for viewing.

If not for the stick and the poke I would think this lava was like a loaf of bread, overcooked in the oven. Nice contours. Good capture.

Actually, the term Sparks is usually the nickname of a nautical radioman. Man, if this doesn't look like something out of the movie, ALIEN, I don't know what does! You can even make out the eye of the creature on the lower left. Wonderful POV, clarity, and contrasting colors in this super capture. Aloha!

Kind of incredible to think this bubbly hot liquid fire is in the center core of our earth and bubbles all the way up to make sparkles for your photo. :-) Another amazing sight...great night shot! :-)

Excellent shot. Stay safe out there, Errol. We don't want you going up in smoke like that stick.

It must have been, um, exciting to be that close! How hot was it? You did a great job of capturing the sparks, that can be so hard to get.
