Born in Hilo, Hawaii and class of '66, I became very active in Barbells, Judo and love striking the heavy/speed bag. I've learned to Rollerblade and bike ride which is a very health sport. But time doesn't stop for anyone including for me. So my good friend Dave aka punaguy got me started in taking pictures. I'm having fun taking pictures especially hiking the mountains. I'm enjoying seeing the world thru your post on Renderosity. Mahalo and Aloha....Errol

Excellent lava shot with gray against fire. I can't help but see a large bear semi-flattened roadkill with his tongue hanging out. Gorgeous colors.

I admire you for finding the soft places in the lava. Its definitely one of those things that you have to be aware of if you walk near hot lava. Nice shot.

I wonder how it looks the landscape, the big picture of this place! Does it looks like the inferno or the hell looks like it?
jwiest
Yeah...I'm guessing a collapse wouldn't be a good thing. Amazing how it can be beautiful and so deadly at the same time. :)

Ionel....At nights, you can see the surface lava glowing from the path it has taken. There are particular some areas that are really red and those are the ones we head for if possible. When day light comes, most of the mass redness disappears except if you are standing close to a lava ooze. From the truck parking lot, you can very much see a river of red glow. But day time, you wouldn't think there is a lava flow coming down from the hill. Hope I answered your question. Maybe one day I'll get the Big Picture at nights and days for comparison. Aloha

As I understand it very dangerously, you the courageous person who shows so beautiful stage. Full extreme.

I bet your boot person loves you. do you retread or buy new ones. I have no doubt any given time you are in danger around the lava. I would think day lite could be more dangerous than night from not knowing what is hot
goodoleboy
An adventure story worthy of Raiders of the Lost Ark or King Solomon's Mines! Never a dull moment cavorting about the lava fields! Excellent detail, textures, contrast and POV in this magnificent capture, my friend! Aloha!
jocko500
wow I happy to know you safe and all with you too. I see a wave of the sea here as if comes in and reach it farest way on the sand then turns to go back into the sea and the wave behind it flows on top of the wave going out.
redchilicat
That sounds scary! Beautiful in a wicked and frightning way :-)
