Description

"I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river." ~ Chuang Tzu

Sort of a busy photograph, but I just love the look of the trees and spanish moss trailing over the dense waters of this part of the river at Blue Springs, FL. The darker leaves of the foreground are in shadow, making for an interesting spatial interplay with the brighter ones beyond. For those interested, we have started a dedicated forum thread about INFRARED PHOTOGRAPHY HERE. ----- EDIT: I agreed that the colors and content make this image a little hard to get into, so I went back and cropped it in closer, adjusted the color tint and made it bigger so that it is easier to appreciate. Be sure to view it full size for the best detail. I also uploaded a regular color image taken at that same spot so you could compare. Click on the image below to see the full size version. Thank you for the feedback!

I like the textures the darker foreground leaves are making, viewing full-size helped my eye with all that is going on in this shot. nice job.

Very interesting shot. Compo is a little difficult for me with having to adjust to the color change and compensate for the depth but I find it very interesting.

A beautiful image but for me Greens of the moss and surrounding vegetation would look better in colour..

It took me a moment to work out what was what, but when I did (full view a must!!) this is really something!! I love the fact that it's busy, it means you spend longer taking in all that is there. Great shot Kort. xx

Both, color and the IR image, are beautiful in their own way! The foreground of the IR version has more beautiful details now and, as any IR work, gives you that unique dreamy effect! :)

this one is clear in composition and easier on the eye... this approach to photography as art is an interesting one, borders on the surreal and expressionism. I would like to see more depth perspective,(seems lost) and play with the values...

Another supreme IR capture, which at first glance, appears to be granulated ice amidst and upon the foliage. Just wonderful contrasted against the black background. Way to go, way down in FLA!

I really like the colour version as you can see more underwater detail, but on the other hand the IR version highlights the Spanish Moss, which is the title, so that seems the best choice. Another observation in the IR one, the foreground leaves almost look 2D or like a cut-out...very kool ! ~Cheers~ :o)
