Description
Captured 5/3/07, in the Pavilion of Wings, located on the lovely premises of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, which, incidentally, is adjacent to the University of Southern California and the LA Coliseum.
Hey, even though I've got a ton/tonne of them, you didn't think I was going to post pics of tulips day after day, did you? Even I must admit that can get boring after a while. I still have butterflies, trees, roses and other flowers, cars, clouds, cats, dogs, ducks, geese, etc., in my vast reservoir of captures to display for all to see. And we mustn't forget my world-acclaimed daisy series, either. Gotta get that up on the screen, too!
That said, this shot is for BibbyBear, specifically, and others, who delight in the genre of insects and arachnids.
Incidentally, all my butterfly captures were obtained with my new Pentax K110D SLR, which initially had given me fits with overexposure problems.
Oh, and I don't know the name of this particular butty, either.
Thanks for coming by, and enjoy this fine day!

Oh, I'm blushing now - that is so sweet of you to think of me when uploading such a wonderful pic of this delightful butty!! Gorgeous colours, so bright and crisp. The deatils are amazing and the DOF and lighting are superb. Thank you so much - I do delight in insects and bugs and I only wish I could come across something so beautiful when I had my camera at the ready - one day maybe!! Thank you again and a million hugs and kisses from me to you! Chrissy xx

This is a really nice butterfly shot. The color is bright but I love how you got an angle that showed long, narrow upper wing parts. Really give it a marvelous shape. Gee, I was all braced for tulips...:-) Guess there is no second-guessing Goodoldboy, huh?
