Description

Lake Ballinger is in South Snohomish County, North of Seattle, in Washington State. It covers a little over 100 acres, and has a nice island in the middle. No power boats allowed. Electric motors are okay. I took this photo while standing on the boat launch next to the fishing dock. I think it was in early April. I'm feeling quite decadent, posting an image in the middle of the day. My brother signed me up with Gallery Plus for my birthday, so now I can bother you up to three times a day if I feel like it! :)

Good to hear no power boats allowed....prevent danger, disturbance and pollution. Excellent shot. Aloha

The "bother " is such a bonus, Tara.. Glorious capture, such peace in this place. Love the natural framing too. Hugs. Diane.

Looks like somebody in one of those pedal boat things. Love the duck, and the reflection along the waters edge.

OMG, three times a day? A wonderful birthday gift, and most magnanimous of your brother, but, it also means I have to conjure up three times as many profound comments as before, unless you emulate the policy of Valerie-Ducom and Ilona, which allows only one comment, reserved for the last photo. That would save a lot of typing. Anyway, a nice, serene photograph of Lake Ballinger, Tara, a spot that would make Tom Sawyer and Huckleberry Finn green with envy. I like the POV and DOF of it all. Happy postings, my dear!

Kalina - Yes, it's very sad. The sky here is white most of the time. There's a song that says "The bluest skies you've ever seen are in Seattle," but that's only true if you're at 30,000 feet! We have an average of 75 clear days a year. The other 290 days the sky is white or gray.
