I have been writing stories and poetry all of my life. My interest in art began when my Dad held my hand when I was about two years old and helped me to draw a face. Since then I have progressed through pencils and crayons through water colours and oils and finally I am doing most of my art on the computer. I have created all of the illustrations in my books and have a substantial art gallery here at Renderosity. I was born in England and travelled to Australia with my family when I was ten years old. We moved to Mount Gambier when I was a child and I returned here in the early 90s and have lived here since. My early life was filled with books and reading and every Christmas we always received a story book of some kind. I remember our book shelves being filled with the works of Kipling, Shakespeare, H. G. Wells, Jules Verne and Edgar Allen Poe, to name a few, together with a good smattering of Enid Blyton and many other children's authors. That early contact with books at my mother's knee inspired a love of reading and writing for which I will always be thankful.

congrats on the book...love the cover!!!!

nice image, but I think it is better to remove the font shadow, and try another font color. but it is also good cover.

Now, if that isn't an intrugueing title! I agree in part with mohsha99: the title font now uses three colors: black for the edges, pink for the fill, white for the shadow. Given the dark background, I suggest white edges (resulting in roughly the current amount of white), pink fill, no shadow. By the way, I am one of those who consider CapsLock shouting. You'll definitely draw attention, so shouting would make the book seam cheaper (worth less, not costing less) to me. I do like the image, but I'd like to make you reconsider it. If the result is unchanged, fine! :-) I'd like you to be aware that you have mixed two approaches: a "still set" one and a cosmic one. I like the idea of a brain-shaped planet with a ring, but I doubt the presence of rather focused beams of light in space. (I feel a difference between "one strange thing in space" and "changing space altogether". But that is a matter of opinion, perhaps just taste...) So how about a source of strong but radiating light instead of the beam? (That would affect both your planet and all these brass "bells".) Whatever you think of my remarks, no matter if you follow them, I wish you (in short) the best of luck with this book, Jo!

I just have to respond to Chris re: the Upper Case lettering in the title. I think it necessary in this complex world in which we live to keep a broad perspective and not become enmeshed in only one part. i.e. the cyberworld which is, after all, a tool and only a tool and certainly doesn't direct my thinking. I agree one must never use capslock in an email or text but they are mere conveniences of communication in a broader world. I have lived longer than many but not as long as some and in my experience book titles tend to be written in caps. Indeed a quick check of my library indicating that most if not all of the book titles were written in Upper Case and this also extends to videos, dvds and video games. However, I have to say here that capslock was never on. The font Pigiron only comes in Upper Case. I LIKE Pigiron. (And I am not shouting just placing emphasis as there doesn't seem to be any other way to do it here). It has a 'comic book' look to it. The whole book is really the exploration of a dream scape. There is no reality in the book. It is a comical, humorous joke. Filled with comical illustrations. I have not tried to parody reality either in the book or in the cover. The only reality would be fleas and if you want to find out what I mean by that you will need to buy the book. hahahahahahahahahaha
