Description
Located on the mouth of the Columbia River in Washington state, the lighthouse was first lit in 1856. It's a beautiful place, but also is the graveyard of 234 ships. Even a ship bringing building supplies during the orginial construction sank! I could have not asked for a better day to visit. Comments are welcome

This is a wonderful shot. I love the POV and the composition. And when on earth were you there when it was a sunny day???? :) As a point of interest, perhaps, there's a photo in my gallery (April 29th) of a Fresnel lens that is in a glass case in the lobby of the Mukilteo lighthouse. I believe the sign on the wall said that the lens did service at the Cape Disappointment light!
