Description

Thanks all for your comments on the previous lighthouse post. Here is another lighthouse I visited that same day, called the North Head lighthouse. It was built a few years after the Cape Disappointment lighthouse because mariners complained they could not see the first one until they were right up on it. About 2 miles north of Cape Disappointment, it's said to be one of the windiest places in the United States with winds up to 126 mph! It must have been my lucky day, not a breeze was blowing that morning. Comments are welcome.
