Description

'Trashland' I abandoned this image after several days painting in Photoshop because it wasn't really working for me and the later version 'Wasteland' which many of you have already seen posted here looks much better and uses many elements from this original piece. It was a great learning experience and even though it was rejected in favour of 'Wasteland' I thought you might like to see it. The original image size is 9000 X 5000 (128MB) and unfortunately much of the detail is lost at this reduced size. The whole thing was done from scratch. Thanks for looking. Tony

It's a nice piece, but Wasteland does have much more emotional impact.

Both images are excellent and really make a point. Sure shows the incredible waste of mankind. I like how you have this deadend road looking toward the city. Really nice work.

WONDERFUL. Just as good as the other one. Only from a different perspective.

Nice work. Although your reflections defy physics to an extent. The "Road Closed" sign for instance doesn't have a realistic reflection. Where the legs of the sign meet the water, the length of the legs should have a reflection that matches the length of the legs above the waterline. Had your camera angle been higher, then this would not apply. But, since your "camera" is looking almost straight at the sign the reflection should mirror the sign identically. I know this is "concept art", but it seems you are reaching for some realism; which is the only reason I brought this up. Excellent artwork as always.

I'm amazed at the talent it takes to paint something like this, whether with paints or digitally. I'd never have the patience to even attempt it. Kudos to you. :)

Thank you for shring this. I doubt very much I could do anywhere near as well with a 2d program. It may have wee problems, but overall I really like the concept and balance. It is a frightening thing we are doing to our home!
