Description

"The fundamental delusion of humanity is to suppose that I am here and you are out there" ~ Yasutani Roshi, Zen master (1885-1973)

ALOHA! For my 900th photo I thought I would finish up an old series rather than do a retrospective collage as I have done in the past. It gives me some peace of mind as this has been nagging at me for, well... about 2 years now. Some of you may remember that I did a Tiki series after a trip to St. Augustine. You can view the old images by clicking HERE. I had some left over from that set so I put them all together here. I also left the backgrounds in this time to give each one a better sense of place. You may notice that the bamboo screen in the left most photo was lifted to create the background for the Tiki galleries. On our last day in St. Augustine Lisa and I ate at a place called the Conch House Marina Resort & Restaurant. The food was good and the bay side view was lovely so if you are ever in the area, try to stop in for a bit and get a fish sandwich and conch fritters. There were tons of Tiki statues all around created by a local woodworker. I think I got most of them in my series, and above you see the final four. At last I can sleep soundly at night. ;'P Thank you all for your support, comments and critiques over the years. You make having a gallery here at Renderosity a pleasure! Please be sure to view it FULL SIZE for the best detail. -----

900th!!! Wow! I think my 900th will be sometime around 2050...lol. ( And maybe even not then. ;^P ) Congrats Kortalooiee! I always loved this series of yours. So I think I'll reprise my last comment on it by singing...'In the Tiki-tiki-tiki tiki-tiki room...la la la"... As always, excellent work, my man. -M :^)

Carvers of wood always fascinate me as much as the images they bring from the wood. They all say that the wood tells them the way it's spirit looks. Congrats on your 900. BJ
