Description

A short time ago Sandy asked me if Lilac grows where I live. I resolved to get a shot for her. I have battled for three days with gales and rain, taken many shots and scrapped them. I finally got a shot I am happy with today. The heady scent of the blossom was so beautiful. I wish you could smell it too. Thank you for looking have a beautiful eventime. Late sun in Bay as I type, the early evening light is glorious. Hugs to all. Diane.

Diane, you are so sweet, even this beautiful flower cannot compare with your lovely spirit! Thank you so very much for going to this trouble for me.. I am deeply touched. :) The lilacs are beginning to bloom here now too. Today as I was leaving the hospital, I could smell them.. on the way home I could see them everywhere in people's yards and was wishing I could go just breathe deeply of their magical scent, but alas, the pain is too great today and I cannot manage to walk even to the nearest ones in the next block.. maybe tomorrow. Well worth all that effort this is a splendid shot of this beautifully perfumed flower. I have a white one here but because we gave it a prune it is sulking and didn't flower last year so I am hoping it will grace us with blossom in the spring.

Beautyfull Diane. Lilac...we had a lot of in our hause when i was a child. Whithe and Blue. So beauyfull. When i smell this flowers it allways brings me back.Hugs hon.

I haven't seen a double lilac in a long time! This one is awesome, and even though it's a photograph taken on the other side of the Atantic, I can smell it!!
