Description

The castle that gives the 50 metre long beach its name. Thanks for your comments on yesterday's upload. I thought someone might comment on the colours, i suppose this is an example of how some people love enhanced colours and others think that there is a line which shouldnt be crossed. I'm undecided, i like the "eye candy" value of such photos, but then sometimes i think it should be the picture which makes you go "wow" and not the colours. Anyway - this shot had a similar treatment in terms of contrast/colour enhancement. No selective editing was done either which means the darkness/lightness in the sky and water was in shot - i used a CPL, gotta love the effets you can get. Enjoy! Rich edit - i decided it was a bit too saturated so just changed that slightly. So if you think it is still to saturated then you should have seen the original ;)

A good shot - stunning, but maybe a little too saturated. Hey - colors are a graphical element as shapes and forms are - so sometimes the colors take center stage - as they are stealing the show from the castle in this one.

i've just come up with a theory - i think i have been taking B&W pictures too long and have come back from my colour "cold turkey" to being a colour freak ;)

Really placid image. But i agree with kjpweb i think it's still a littlebit to saturated. But the rest is really fantastic, very nice shot!

Superb shot, excellent reflection & tones, I like the effect of the saturation in this shot, I was reading where if you adjust the same JPEG image more than once you start to get the jpeg artifact effect, It maybe my eyes but it looks like this is starting to happen around the castle reflection & the top of the castle as well Stuart

Yeah hear where you are coming from and the blues and contrasts could just as easily been done in camera with polarisers etc, as well as postwork. There are some nice extra elements in this I prefer to the other one, such as the ripple, and the odd shaped thing jutting from the water to add to the composition..

Very nice Rich. It may be just a bit too saturted for my tastes, but what draws my attention is the areas of sharp contrast have a bit of a haloing effect. Superb though with the ripple and composition.

Beautiful image. Did you toss a rock in the water for the ripples?

Well, I don't understand what people mean when they refer to saturation exactly, I have an idea, but all I can say as a novice to all this tech stuff is, I really love the deep rich colours in this shot - it's eye-catching, bold and very calming. The compo is stunning and the ripples in the tranquil water adds just enough motion to the shot for my tastes. I love the reflections too. Top marks from me, but then your work usually does!!! xx

I like the rich colors. I think it brings out the textures in the cliff and castle and love the deep blues. It's a very "Rich" photo!!!

Wow! Either way I judge from the appeal first and then try to be clinical about what I think about the rules. In my eye a stunning effect and the impact was highly enhanced which is good.

Love the ripple, it looks amazing in this context. I actually thought that the colours did look a little too unnatural too - but im humble among the experts!
