Description
Captured 10/29/06 at the Auto & Copter Expo held annually at the beautiful Armed Forces Reserve Center in beautiful Los Alamitos, California.
Continuing the odyssey of the 1912 Ford I posted on 5/14 and 5/16, this time from another POV.
This shot displays the plywood dash board, with a glove box and a plethora of controls, including pedals, knobs, levers, etc. I know the gas pedal and gear shift have to be in there somewhere.
Okay, it doesn't have a ton of computerized equipment, including a CD/DVD/satellite X-radio or GPS setup, but deep down, this is really hitech!
Incidentally, I'm no expert on auto construction from back in the early 20th century, but on relatively close inspection, I got the feeling that this vehicle as shown was not all original equipment.
As in many of the other photos I took that exhilarating but exhausting day, the background was blurred via postwork for ease of viewing.
POSTWORK RULES!
Thanks for the visit, and have a never to be forgotten weekend!

See this antique series of old cars...amazing how far cars went in designs and build. Like this side view of this Ford. Too many levers and knobs and what else not on it for me. I like to just put in drive(gear)and eat a miles on a country road!

Will you just look at that wooden dashboard!!! Perfection - they don't make 'em like that anymore - such a shame!! Great POV. xx

Looking at this pic it's customized. The spark advance and throttle were on the steering column as were most cars of the era. Check out http://www.retropedalcars.com/model t history.com for a quick history of the "T"

That's not a glove box, that's where the magneto coils are. Each one is in a little wooden box itself and made of miles of fine magnet wire wound around a core. Don't think I know everything about it. I have no idea what that lever with a round knob on it in the middle of the floor is. A shift for a two-speed axle? Or the knob next to the circular guage (gas guage would have been on top of the tank under the seat without these buckets) in the center of the seat front. A primer?
