Description

So i got two new lenses today: the absolutely stunning Sigma 70-200 F/2.8 which this shot is taken with (1m minimum focus distance!)... and the 10-20mm which has been on my wishlist for a while. Only got 50 practice balls to play with on the range... this is an ongoing project with a mate of mine (meaning i want to go back and do it again) i want to get a better shot than this and i know it is possible... for one the shot isnt at the fastest shutter speed (1/8000th is the 30D limit) nor was the sun shining very brightly so i was using a high ISO... so i know there is definitely room for improvement. Thing is this was the only shot which got impact, and even then it was cheating slightly... golfers will know that the shaft will be bent near impact... this shaft clearly isnt: my mate did a "grandad swing" for this shot - still went +100yards, but club head speed was severely limited. Anyway - thought i would post it up... tomorrow's upload will either be a result of me playing at sunset with the 10-20 or the result of trying to shoot a full swing golf shot ;) Enjoy! Rich

I don't know what you're going to improve, Rich... this shot is already so effective ! Great swing ! spo_balle_090.gif

Great idea Rich! My top tip would be to take a mirror with you next time - the bigger the better (I think a 10"x10" would probably do here), then direct the sun direct on the tee. On a sunny day you should get 1/8000 no problem at ISO 400 or below. I'm currently trying to photo my bluetits leaving their nesting box (which is always in the shade) using a similar technique - with my hall mirror, believe it or not!! I wish you the best of luck, just don't let your buddy break the mirror with his shot!!

Amazing shot and at 3200 split secs. Really great. I think a coloured background would be great too.
