Description

I just uploaded this into the Bryce Contest."Old Stuff" I've wanted to do a derelict spacecraft for some time. This contest just gave me the reason to make one. This image also falls under the category of not being happy with it. Lighting is a big thing for me right now. This picture went through ten different lighting changes. Yet, I'm still not happy. The other thing is the scale. I wanted to make it seem as though the ship was big. I mean BIG! I also liked the idea that the spaceship is massive and the cliffside should dwarf it. I'm not sure I conveyed that in this piece. This image is still very much a work in progress. Comments and insight greatly welcomed.

I think you are well on your way to achieving the goals you set for this image. I also had to struggle with lighting as I was learning 3D CGI.

Excellent materials in this - certainly looks like an old and rusting hulk that has crash-landed thousands of years ago! Perhaps something in the forground to show the scale of the ship, and like you said, decrease the size of the cliff? Well done indeed!
