Description

Here is my first submission to the CG Sphere contest. Check out CG Sphere Project cause it's very interesting! It's my actual webcam. I went deeper into modeling for this, because it's not really my part! Toolchain used: Hexagon, Poser6, Vue6 d'Esprit, Photoshop CS2 (for the light DOF) Hope you like. Thanks for viewing, all comments are welcome :)

Yeah I hate to just give you a Great Image on this one, but it really is pretty much perfect. The only thing I can see that could use ANY help is the fingernail on that thumb. Lacks cuticle and detail for so close up. Perhaps the reflection of the hand on the wall back there as well. The rest of the reflections are fantastic, this is really very good.

Very imaginative! Very well made. I must say that in the first second I thought it was a photograph! The skin would be better with a displacement map, instead of bump map, IMHO. I think it would enhance realism tremendously if you would put on the camera some text with the technical characteristics of the lens (the "f" or the brand, for example).

Can I just say Wow! On first glimpse, I too thought it was from the photography gallery. Maybe just a little rotation on the pinky, that's the only thing I can suggest.

VERY impressive! I agree with most of the other comments, and they are minor points, at that. One thing that hasn't been mentioned is the reflection of the face! WOW--THAT is SO COOL! You did really well on this piece! This isn't really my cup of tea, but I'm impressed by the work!

That looks amazingly lifelike. I particularly like the "graph" background and the curve of it too, which gives the whole image a real clear perspective. Excellent job.

Bravo, une id giale, et une rlisation excellente. Il y a juste un petit probleme avec les reflections de la main sur le fond, fait comme des pat! Sinon, rien dire.

Oh man this is soo cool, I love how you can see the skin texture of his fingers! From the dry skin like texture to the skin pigmentation very nice! The you have the reflection of the forground on the face of the web came giving you a look at what else is in the room very nice touch!!

Very good and realistic. Add a displacement map on the skin. The plastic of the usb plug is to shiny, the metal part seems to reflect in a wrong way, it looks like shiny plasic. Really great picture.

Excellent photorealism. I think that the pose of the cam is perfect, and I like the interaction between the fingers and the sphere.

Superb! Color on the thumb nail is a little bit off but that is nothing, this is just about flawless. Really nice reflection on the sphere itself, and nice little flattened look to the index fingertip where it interacts with the sphere. Great job modeling your camera also! I hope you win :)
