Description

Dun dun dunnnnn... As the wicked winter weather finally subsides and the snows melt away, out of the dampness ~ life begins again! The branches and rocks begin to take on a new color as, what looks to be, alien life ... forms new colonies that crawl over and blanket everything in sight. The first sign of Spring is known to be the robin here in Northeastern NY but the real first arrival is the moss and the molds that the Spring rains nourish. Soon the new color, green, has replaced the vast white at an amazing speed. I found this very strange looking plant(?) covering the branches of my lilac bush. I'd never noticed it before but now that I've discovered photography, it's just one more thing that I've seen with a new vision. I thought I would share it with you all. :-) Hope you are having a wonderful weekend and a safe and happy Memorial Day Holiday to all in the US. :-) ~*~ maggie ~*~

Great shot maggie. Lichen is so interesting when you first notice it and most fairyfolk find it very handy for dressing up on special occassions. The first sign of spring around here is usually the run over skunk or two but I deeeeeefinately like your lichen better hehe Seriously, some of your shots would be wonderful on a calender, I think, including this one.

WHAT A SHOT!!!! A beauty Mags. Love the tiny florals growing amidst the mold. Or is it that the mold has tiny flowers. Excellent shot.
