Description
Carl Jung believed that each of us has a Mandala, a respresentation of our universe and how it interacts with the universal unconsciousness that connects each of us as individual souls, both in the present and in the past. This is my Mandala, the protector of all that threatens that connection, or at least that is my fantasy. (My first serious attempt at impasto embossing).

Beautiful work Collin, and I a great reminder of Jung's work (although I think I have been spending WAY too much time on Maslow lately...lol) It makes me wonder what my mandala is, something I worked on. Maybe I will start up again. Wonderful work, and I like the impasto!

past present and future are one. time does not exist for them. we are the only ones that need time/great image

A beautiful and effective protector, my friend! Your world appears to be in good hands. (Claws?) It has been so many years since I was involved in things Jungian that I have forgotten my images. I shall comfort myself with the believe that integration, rather than senility, is responsible for that lack. This is a wonderful image. The colors are quite pleasing to my eye, and I love the impasto textures.

That is an interesting title for your image and your protector. I usually think of a protector differently, but it is much better that your protector is a mediator between you and whatever threatens your connection. I think of that as a peaceful action rather than one that might be associated with violence. For your first impasto, I think you did a wonderful job. The color palette is beautiful. Congratulations Collin!

I admire Jung's work, and after looking up the word Intercessor, I nderstand what you mean, and agree. To me he looks friendly and protective. Great impasto textures!
