Description

Above anything else, Dr. McCoy is a man of science. Branded a freak since birth due to his extra large hands and feet (a mutation with its roots based in his fathers exposure to radiation) Henry Hank McCoy soon turned this to his favor. Also blessed with the grace of a gymnast and super human strength, he soon rose to near stardom playing football for his school. It wasn't long before he was noticed by Charles Xavier and became one of the founding members of the X-Men, taking the name "Beast". A brilliant biochemist with a never ending quest for knowledge, Henry was often in his laboratory. It was his experimenting that turned him into a blue furry, almost ape-like creature. At this stage in his life, Henry truly held the appearance of a beast. After a brief stint as an Avenger and a Defender, the Beast soon rejoined the X-Men, risking his life many times to save his friends. Perhaps the most taxing point in Henry's life came when he was confronted by the Dark Beast. In a reality similar in many ways to our own, Henry McCoy had grown up to be a very different man. Although they both shared the love of science and had both mutated their own bodies to resemble beasts, this McCoy was (some might say) pure evil. In his world, the Dark Beast would experiment on his living prisoners. At the point of his world's destruction, the Dark Beast was able to leave it and somehow end up in our own. Posing for a time as Henry, the Dark Beast infiltrated the X-Men and was only outed at the rise of Onslaught. He then disappeared underground. Years later, Henry began to mutate even more. He began to resemble a humanoid feline. It was Cassandra Nova that first placed the suggestion that Henry was not evolving, as once thought, in fact, the opposite. As months passed, Henry began to change more, from a man to ape, ape to cat, cat to lizard, lizard to fish, fish to bacteria, until he finally passed away... Or so thought the X-Men. In fact, Henry had not died, both he and the Dark Beast (who had been going through a similar process in hiding) had taken so many steps backwards on the evolutionary scale, they had come full circle the moment they reappeared in new bodies. Bodies that were even more evolved above man as man is above ape. It is in these new bodies that both Henry McCoys must come to terms with their true nature in the whole scheme of the universe. As men of science and proud athiests, both men may have a hard time accepting who they truley are... ***** story and pencils by Paradox colors by me in Photoshop Thanks Paradox and thank you all for viewing.
