Description
The last one of the house which is worth posting and the most (not smashed up by the builders which were there) derelict looking shot. The light switch of yesterday was just up and to the left above the door. Also at the end of the corridor on the ceiling there were snail shells (whether the occupants were still alive i dont know)... and i loved how the window had a crawler growing through it :) And the missing floorboard was a godsend. But yeah - the rest of the upper floor was pretty much pristine!
This is actually a crop of a 10mm wideangle, and because i am feeling a little "this is how i got this" here are the various things i did in postwork:
Black and white conversion from RAW (conversion included contrast adjustments)
Curves
Levels
Burning detail on the door the floor and all the dark places - including the far wall which is now barely discernable (intended)
Added a slight vignette
Enjoy!

Nice work my friend. I agree with all of your observations about what made this photoworthy.

I had just written a beautiful speech here about the memories this picture stirred in me (until I lost my internet connection and lost the whole lot!!!) but suffice to say, we have renovated two old properties now and this photo has captured the atmosphere beautifully.... the old floor boards with the tales of how many feet have crossed them, the window once gazed out of by so many.... Brilliantly photographed and great postwork to bring out the real artistic feel and ambience. xx

The lighting in this is awesome. And it takes a second to get your bearings looking at this. But a great shot in BW. Well done man.
