Description
there is a place where only I can go
not where you see me clear
not where my relapses rest
it is not a place my friends see through
nor their reflections of my soul
it is more tender then my outer skin
more delicate then my mistakes can know
This is where only I exist
where all hope and fears find rest
and it is a drawer not often open
for another souls inspection
and should I let your eye fall there
know that should you judge
should you suggest or imply
the secrets lying there will stay
in the dark, unshared forever will they lie

I so love your portrait and poem. They are a beautiful completeness. The look you captured in the eye together with the closed lips and color, speak of fragility and pain. This touches me deeply, and I feel both challenged and at home with both. There are profound implications of your thought. Excellent, Collin, really impressive work. Hugs, Suzanne x:)

Thought-provoking image and words, my friend. Both are very well done.

The other side of the looking glass, between the panes we view and are viewed. A very wonderful image, and your words remarkable.

Wonderful composition of words and image. It is great to find synchronistic postings. If it can comfort, they say that great minds think alike.Human conditions are really very much alike all over the world. Our fragility and thoughts that we are alone in our misery, keep us apart instead of sharing.

No one really knows who we are or what we really feel, not even ourselves, and yet we all are so much alike in our fears and secrets. Haunting, thought provoking image and words. CC
