Description
Last Monday Ann and I went to Walsterway Iris Gardens in Maltby, Washington. (They don't have a website, but if you are nearby and want to visit, they're at 360-668-4429.) I took photographs, and she looked at every single flower, made cryptic notes on a list she was carrying around, and mumbled a lot. (Ann is actually quite sane until you get her in a nursery.)
I went a little nuts myself, and came back with over 300 photographs of iris blooms. Don't worry - I won't post them all! This is one of my favorites. It's such a deep purple, it's almost black. I love the texture of the petals on these dark varieties.
Another title I couldn't resist! (Madeline Kahn to Gene Wilder in Young Frankenstein.)

Wonderful and striking presentation of a flower I never saw before. The top section looks like purple cabbage leaves. Unless you collaged the collection, it would take a good part of a year to show all of your iris captures. Which movie star said, Taffeta, darling? Sounds like something Bette Davis would say.
