I guess is a fly wheel of a mechanical device with the variation tones and intensity of the colors, making the image a great contrast

Well, it is part of the tuning dial on a radio, but I was playing with the shot in post processing and got this. I liked the gradients of colors and the dirty grungy look of the gear teeth, so I cloned out everything but them. I'd have liked it better it the gears had faded into shadow before the edges of the image. I think that would've worked a lot better.
