Description
Well, this image was as much of a basket case as the subject. I forgot to change the white balance from tungsten to daylight, so the colors were way out of wack. Also, because the sun was behind the house, the sky was washed out. The house was well guarded by brambles and maple saplings, thus limiting the number of spots to shoot from.
Messing with levels and contrast, and finally moving it over to grayscale seems to have pulled this image out of the dumper somewhat.
I might sneak back to this locale in during morning, when the sun is at my back, or around noon when the sun is high and the eaves cast longer shadows, but it'll have to be a covert Op.
cuz I got chased out by the coppers this time around.

I think this basically works. The building does have tremendous character..it might well be worth it to try and sneak back there for a few more shots!

O Man, the black & white really brings out the age in this structure... You can almost hear it creaking in the wind...The shadows of the empty spaces and the reflective lights coming off the glass of the windows all might have been missed if it had been in color... Wonderful!
