Description

Completed in 1982, The Thames barrier provides a flood defense barrier. In the event of high water levels the gates are raised (they are submerged in pano) protecting London from flooding. I last visited this place as a kid, so I was eager to include this structure amongst my London panos, it's still impressive then as it is now. I took a few panos of the barrier, but I liked this one best as you can see Canary Wharf and the Millenium dome in the background. This is fantastic! The Thames Barrier on it's own would have been great! But with the extra bit makes this a very special photo and it has to be a favourite!

It is impressive indeed - all your panos hold a lot of interest due to their clarity and detail. Fantastic work. If anything - it might be a tad oversaturated, when looking at the sky.

I was in this very place earlier this year in April, on arriving in England, it was chilly though sunny and this pano reflects what I actually saw in my own eyes. What a superb panoramic view and excellent photographic treatment you've applied to this gem of a photo.
