Description
This shot was taken from the West Cliff in Whitby, North Yorkshire, UK. You can see the 199 steps snaking down from the Abbey with just a solitary figure in view. St. Mary's Church stands in front of the Abbey and those with good eyes will see a graveyard just below to the right.
For your information, Bram Stoker based his famous book Dracula in Whitby. He finished the book in 1897 and the Dracula connection accounts for two Goth festivals in Whitby which are usually in April and October. Thousands of Goths
come to Whitby and it's great for the local economy. It's also great to see their wonderful costumes.
Hope you like this shot, cheers Dave.

Well, Dave, isn't this just the perfect picture postcard view of Whitby, a place I simply love to visit, but preferably not with 30 kids in tow on a school outing! I have walked up those steps on quite a few occasions and never fail to give myself a pat on the back when I reach the top! Brilliant shot. Enjoy the rest of your week. Eileen xxx

Ok is there any other way to get up there lol. Excellent shot. The lighting is perfect to capture the muted colors of the buildings against the green cliff. I bet the festivals alot of fun to photograph. Good evening to you and Di :0)bonita

Impressive. I like this way. The colour in the sky. And steps its the right word. They're not climbing. Just try 1000 more in Bracara Augusta.
