I agree with you, and I also think its a pity that so many here have begun to collect votes and comments only to climb into the charts and to become the queen or king of ReRo ;-) I have just canceled the rankings since a very long time,but I dont want to cancel the comments yet as it is a pissibility to be a bit in touch with some "older friends". Anyway, you really have done a wonderful, photoreal portrait here!!!

I love the softness and color here! Very vibrant! I pretty much always leave ranking and such turned off and just like to have comments on, pretty much for the same reason Sivana said, too keep up with friends and their works ;-)

Does anyone even pay attention to the ratings? LOL I don't.. But I love the comments on still... it's one of those.. "Someday... I know someday someone will give me some constructive criticism so i can grow and learn as an artist! Someday it WILL happen!" thing for me LOL Turn off what ya want but please do leave your comments on.. I still want to be able to tell you how much i love your stuff :)

Understandable. I turned off ratings a long time ago. They've gotten quite meaningless. The polite thing to do is to always give top marks, and anything less is often done for reasons completely apart from the merits of the image itself. Of course, even the comments are sometimes meaningless. I see a number of users going through the galleries and just cut-n-pasting their comment, i.e. every image gets the same comment. I know for some there's a language barrier, so I'll cut them some slack, but for the others, I sometimes feel like I've just been spammed. So, about this image (the comment I was going to make before I read the little rant section): That's a great outfit. Something about it says "postwork" to me, but the lighting on it is fantastic.

Hmm... i can see a lot of people sharing your point of view, and i can tell i share it too. Honnestly what's the most important? Enjoying by making a picture and sharing it with an opened minded community, or just desperately try to reach the top of a chart? if going on renderosity means desperately claiming comments or ratings all around the galleries, that's not making art anymore... For sure, it's always nice to see some people enjoyed a picture and let a comment, and if sometimes let a good constructive criticize, it's almost nirvana! ^^ Each people has his own mood of exploring galleries, it's a fact and i respect it, but please, we have all an opinion about anything, don't limit ourselves to an impersonnal behaviour! About the picture, well it's really a charming one, i really like this touch of nostalgy wich gives life to this moody picture, good job!

LOL I completely understand where you are coming from with the ratings/comments.. I have seen some crazy stuff here. That is why I stopped posting everyday. It is just a run for favorites. Not why I joined this site to begin with. I wanted to learn and develop as an artist, not compete with artists..

I like what you show girl is showing, reminds me of Las Vegas. as to your comments I am not sure what you are refering to, I guess I do not follow the news here. your comment makes it appear somethign has changed. I do not cut and paste my comments anf I try to give an honest polite comment, and I try to make the artist smile if I can think of a witty comment (usually only half witty..LOL).
