Ultrafractal 4.03
Yet another geo-fractal abstract form the Book of Jock.ufm, the chapter on IFS-Barnsley+jock III. :-) I seem to be really getting off on this style - hope they aren't getting boring or stale. Sorry I haven't been around much lately - have spent the last 3 1/2 months trying to get myself back into some semblence of "shape". Too much sitting in front of the pc had deposited a good (bad) 55 or so lbs in areas that were NOT biceps or pecs - lol. So I've gotten myself back into the gym and doing lots of "roadwork and iron" as I call running and weightlifting. Hey - I'm down 35lbs and have only maybe another 20 to go! Lost five inches off my waist and got to break out all those 33in Levis I'd packed away - "waist" not, want not - lol. Anyhow, it's made me cut drastically my fractalling time because I'm trying to keep moving. Once I get back to where I was - and belong - b4 my recent 4-year fractal obsession, I should be able to taper off a little so as not to get downright skinny and will be around more.
Thanks a BUNCH to everyone who still stops by to see my work and offer encouragement- y'all are the BEST and have made the last 4 years some of the most satisfying in my life!
c-ya!
Rick

As always, great work :)

Amazing work, not only on the fractal but on yourself. Keep pushing it as there is really no pain, no gain. The key is always staying at the same fitness level and dietary habits. I know, as you...I've been there.

Perfect neo-geo!

A very nice abstract, just as your body was as I read your story :D I'm so lucky to have a dog so every once in a while I have to get out or he'll pee on my shoes :D Good work on both body and image!!

And they say you can't have too much of a good thing! I suppose it depends on how you define good, and being overweight shouldn't be good in anybodys' book - it imperils health and life itself. Still 35 lbs gone says the remainder should be a breeze (well, if you run hard enough). Now for the picture: rather than criticism this is meant to give a personal impression, and for you to decide it I got the message correctly. the circular area is the nub of the picture. Pretty everything else pushes at or directs attention there, and the title says so anyway. All those pressures come from the left side (including upper, lower). The base also emphasises that side. It all adds to a feeling of instability, and this is reinforced by having the light area in the bottom right corner. You actually have to take in the picture as a whole to counteract the sense of unease and I find this to some extent in the large yellow-cream areas on the upper left side. One of the most interesting (and rewarding) things in working with fractals is the need to address new compositional concepts. Similarly with colour, of course, for we soon learn it is a far more creative tool, than traditional artists would understand. As said, this is more a feedback than criticism, and no doubt I've got it all wrong.

I love this style of fractal you are doing. Have a nice clear look to them. Good on you for getting out to the gym, so hard to lose weight and keep it off.

Looks like someone has regained and captured a serious dose of focus! (both the piece and the personal triumph!...Been there...still struggling...so, go you!) Now, if you could just learn to fractal in motion, we should all get our fixes :)

Wonderful.
