Description

Sincerely Yours Lord, I slipped again - bad. I have failed to keep my walk pure before You. I justify it, but it is sin just the same. I find I welcome the guilt; the self-punishment. Without the guilt I feel I give myself license to sin again. I also know that "there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus," but my conscience won't let me be. And I'm sorry. Sorry? The sin was almost willfully committed. In the moment, I enjoyed the sin. I savored it. I caressed it. I gave it life. I gave "death" life. How sick is that? So I come to You again (and again, and again, and again) seeking Your forgiveness. I know You forgive, if I come to You sincerely desiring it. Your mercies are new every day - how is Your patience? Without You I am nothing. I'm lost in the trappings of sin; the teeth clenched tightly into my heart; not letting go. The chains of death staked firmly in the ground, waiting for me to quit the fight and give up; just die. My life I lay at Your feet; do as You will with it. I know what I believe I deserve, but You say differently in Your word. Where I offer sorrow, You give joy. Where I back away, You reach out. Where I lay a broken heart on Your altar, You hand me back wholeness. So Lord, I slipped again; and You know it. Yet, in the midst of my anguish, You have given me forgiveness. Help me to not take it lightly, but to allow Your Spirit to move in me to guide me along the pathway - avoiding the traps. Thank You. Sincerely Yours, Forgiven. J.P. Wiegand
